About The Teacher
This is my 3rd year at FJH, and I am so excited about everything the LA department has been working on over the summer! I look forward to getting to know you throughout the year. In the meantime, here is a little information about myself: I received my B.A. in English at Converse College in South Carolina and my M.S. in Reading at The University of Houston - Clear Lake. Before coming to Friendswood, I taught in Pearland and worked one-on-one with students in private tutoring situations. I have lived all over the place: Missouri, Louisiana, Georgia, South Dakota, Tennessee, South Carolina, and ultimately Texas. I have lived in Texas longer than anywhere else. When not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, my eight year old twin daughters who are in second grade at Cline, and our worthless but lovable dog - a 3 year old black Lab! I am a book nut! Not only do I love to read books, but I also love OWNING books - I have stacks waiting to be read and I CANNOT stop buying them! I believe that communication between school and home is vital. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Email is the easiest and often fastest way to reach me: nferro@fisdk12.net. I will do my best to respond to emails during my planning period or after school. If you feel the need to speak with me, please leave a message, and I will return your call at my earliest convenience.

Mission
My goal for our class this year will be for all students to work their hardest to reach their full potential. I know that with effort, everyone can succeed! "The pupil who is never required to do what he cannot do, never does what he can do." John Stuart Mill
