About The Teacher
Bonjour! Hello! I'm "Madame Ghogomu" (pronounced GO-GO-MO) and I'm thrilled to be working with your son / daughter. This is my second year at FJH. A little about my background before coming to Friendswood... I studied French at Northern Illinois University as well as the University of Houston, and in Avignon, France. My first stint as a teacher was in Cameroon, West Africa. I taught both High School and Elementary School over there. I also had the priviledge of working at the International School of Douala where I was able to interact with students from all over the world. Since returning to the U.S. I've been a French teacher at a Montessori School in the Chicago area working with children from pre-school age up to 8th grade and then here in Texas teaching High School French (all levels including AP French). I am married with five children and one precious granddaughter. I enjoy music, art, and of course I love to travel. I look forward to having another great year here in Friendswood!
Mission Label:
Mission
The mission for French I is to give students an opportunity to learn the basics of the French language. This course also explores the rich and diverse culture of not only France but of the many francophone countries around the world. Students will learn the fundamentals of French grammar and will learn how to carry on simple conversations about food, clothing, travel, and much, much more. It is my hope that through this course students will learn to make connections between their language and the language of the French-speaking world and that they will learn to embrace our commonality as well as our differences in an ever-widening global society.
