Dear Parents,
Hi. My name is Kara Acaiturri (Miss Acaiturri, Miss A. or Kara). I
am excited to be your child's' 3rd grade teacher. We are going to have a
fabulous year.
I wanted to tell you some background information about me.I LOVE to
TEACH and I LOVE KIDS. Each year I am reminded why I love to teach
because their are so many wonderful kids out there just waiting to LEARN.
I am originally from California. I moved here 11 years ago. I have
my Masters in special education, my BA in Liberal Studies with an emphasis
in education, and a dual credential. My credentials are in regular Education
ages 2-20 and Special Education ages 2-20. I also have an ESOL certification
from California and TAG which is Talented and Gifted.
In California I taught Special Ed. for 2 years it was a 1st, 2nd,
and 3rd grade combination class. When I moved to Texas I taught special
education (resource) then 2nd grade. I then taught first grade at Robertson
3 years and then decided to go back to 2nd grade for 2 more years. This is
my 4th year teaching third grade and my sixth year here at Gattis.
I am looking forward to getting to know your child and yourselves.
As we venture into the school year, I encourage you to join us on our
journey and provide an important supportive roll in the development of our
classroom.
Sincerely, Kara
Miss A
Exciting news:
I just got married on September 19th in Laguna Beach, California and went on
my honeymoon to Kawai Hawaii. I had so much fun. My husbands name is Matt
Dolezal. So my new name is now Mrs. Dolezal. Matt is a radiation therapist at
a cancer center in Bastrop and also is project manager for 2 new cancer
centers that they are opening. One center is in New Branfels suppose to open
in late October or early November and the other will be in Kyle (still in the
making). Matt is a wonderful man and I am very exciting to start this new
chapter in my life.
