My name is Maria Luedke and I am the Ridgeview Middle School PTA VP-Programs.
RMS originally had a brown bag lunch scheduled with the Gattis 5th grade parents yesterday but we understand that it needed to be rescheduled for a later date. This meeting is a chance for 5th grade parents to get information about middle school and to ask questions. The Ridgeview Principal, the 6th grade Assistant Principal, the 6th grade counselor, the Parent Support Specialist and representatives from the RMS PTA will all attend this meeting. We would like to see if it can be rescheduled for February 26th at your school. We have found that the 11am-12pm time frame works well.
Our administration will give a presentation and we will each give information about middle school and then we will be available to answer questions your parents may have. The PTA will also have Spirit Wear available for purchase.
Welcome students and parents to our class website. I am new to Gattis this year. As I get to know the staff and your children, I feel very fortunate to be teaching here and spend time with your kids each day. With the potential I see in class, I am confident that this is going to be a very good year!

Our room parents are Lori Shortes and Michelle Smith. If anyone would enjoy coming in and helping with some projects during the morning let me know.
We can also communicate via the planner that your child brings home each day. I believe that this is an excellent organizational tool. This can help them keep up with their assignments and keep you informed of what is happening in class. I appreciate the way they have had a parent initial each this each day.
Every Monday the class receives a spelling/vocabulary list and a special spelling assignment that is due that next Thursday.Thursday is the day they will have the spelling test.Spending time reading is very beneficial
Please have you child read for at least twenty minutes each day. Please feel free to contact me when you have concerns.
