Artsonia.com News

Our Gattis online art gallery at Artsonia.com is up and running!  We have quickly become one of the top ranked schools on the site!  If you haven't visited yet, you are missing out on great things happening with the Gattis art program.  Here are some components of Artsonia:

Security Keys- Parents need to register one time to have access to their child's gallery.  To register the first time, you need the child's specific Security Key.  Those have been sent home with all of my students.  If your child did not bring one home, please email me for it.  Only registered parents can approve comments for display on the site.  This is a safety feature.

GIft Shop- Check out the online Artsonia Gift Shop.  You can order beautiful, custom gifts featuring student artwork. I have sample items in my classroom- they are all very high quality.  We earn back 15% of the sales for our art department.  What a deal!  As the holidays approach, keep this in mind- grandparents love these cherished items!

Fan Club- Join and invite family and friends to be a part of your child's online Fan Club!  Members will receive updates whenever there is activity such as new artwork or comments.  Students are encouraged to join Fan Clubs of their classmates.

Comments- Visitors can leave compliments for the artists.  What a great way to stay in touch with far away relatives and friends.  Parents must register before being able to read and approve the comments.  We already have lots of unread comments- so please check your child's gallery.

Student Awards- Students can earn online awards.  Blue ribbons can be earned by having 5 artworks, 5 Fan Club members, and/or 5 comments.  When all three blue ribbons are achieved, the student earns an online Hall of Fame trophy.  Hall of Fame students get to sign the recognition poster outside my classroom door.

Rankings- Artsonia ranks the schools by specific criteria: number of artworks, fan club members, and comments, as well as Gift Shop purchases.  At the end of last year, Gattis reanked #2 in Texas and #4 in the U.S. ranks!  We can be #1 with everyone's participation!!

I have been involved with Artsonia since it began ten years ago.  It takes art beyond the classroom walls and encourages family and community involvement in art education.  Artsonia is the official gallery of the National Art Education Association.  It is definitely a win-win program!  Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
