WORLD COMPETITION
SEVEN winners in the International Children's Art Exhibition, judged in Japan!
PETER MAX
Fifth graders studied the contemporary art of American artist Peter Max. They
created "Liberty Head" paintings in his style. Ms. Staten presented
paintings and notes from four students to Mr. Max at an exhibit in Austin. He
was very touched by the works of Dasha Chalenko, Alex Cornett, Jazmine
Figueroa, and Daniel Nguyen. What an honor!

Hello Gattis!
I am really happy to be here this year! There are lots of exciting things
coming in the Art Department. Very soon, each student will have an online
art portfolio. Parents, grandparents, and friends will be able to see what
the students are creating at Gattis by visiting the site. Stay tuned for
more information about that!
I am new to Gattis and to Round Rock as well. I have one son- he is
attending Southwestern University in Georgetown where he is playing soccer.
Please stop by and and say hello. I look forward to getting to know the
Gattis families.
