I have been teaching for seventeen years. I have taught both first and second
grade. I have taught first grade for the last ten years at Gattis. I live
in Round Rock and have two beautiful boys of my own. My oldest is a junior at
Stony Point High School and my youngest is in eighth grade at Ridgeview
Middle School. I am very impressed with the Round Rock School district not
only as a teacher but also as a parent. I am married to a wonderful man who
is a State Trooper We have an adorable Yorkie named Harley and a very large
(fat) twenty pound cat named Tigger. And no, he doesn't bounce very well!
Well, I obviously didn't do it for the money. :) I became a teacher because
I love children and I love trying to impact their lives in a positive way
that will help them to become well rounded, successful, adults with many
opportunities ahead of them. In my classroom each child will feel unique and
special. I will only accept their best and they will understand that as long
as they try they will never fail. Can't is a word that is not used because
once we use the word can't, the trying stops. I know that all children do
not learn in the same way therefore I will work with each child to find
which switch "turns the light bulb on" so they each can meet their true
potential.
I am their teacher at school but you, as parents, are their teacher at home.
Your child needs all of us, working as a team, to help them to be as
successful as possible. My door is always open and I promise to take good
care of your child educationally, physically and emotionally.
We are going to have a great year and Gattis is a great place to be!
