About The Teacher Label:
About The Teacher
I have been teaching for nineteen years. I have taught both first and second grade. I have been teaching first grade for the last twelve years at Gattis. I grew up in the Austin area. I have lived in Round Rock for the past fifteen years. I have two beautiful boys of my own. My oldest is a graduate of Stony Point High School and currently attends Temple Junior College on a full ride baseball scholarship. My youngest is a sophomore at the new Cedar Ridge High School. He plays both football and baseball for the Raiders. I am very impressed with the Round Rock School district not only as a teacher but also as a parent. I am married to a wonderful man who is a State Trooper. We have an adorable Yorkie named Harley and a very large (fat) twenty pound cat named Tigger. We spend a lot of our time going to football games in the fall and baseball games during the spring.
Mission Label:
Mission
Well, I obviously didn't do it for the money and contrary to popular belief we do not get three months off during the summer. ;-) I became a teacher because I love children and I love trying to impact their lives in a positive way that will help them to become well rounded, successful, adults with many opportunities ahead of them. In my classroom each child will feel unique and special. I will only accept their best and they will understand that as long as they try they will never fail. Can't is a word that is not used because once we use the word can't, the trying stops. I know that all children do not learn in the same way therefore I will work with each child to find which switch "turns the light bulb on" so they each can meet their true potential. I am their teacher at school but you, as parents, are their teacher at home. Your child needs all of us, working as a team, to help them to be as successful as possible. My door is always open and I promise to take good care of your child educationally, physically and emotionally. We are going to have a great year and Gattis is a great place to be!
