Dear Gator Family,

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you and your child to Gattis 
Elementary.  I hope your summer has been a pleasant one and that everyone is 
ready for a wonderful year of working and learning together.  I am so excited 
to have the opportunity to have your child in my classroom this year.

Let me take a few minutes to tell you a little bit about myself.  I grew up 
in the Austin area. I have lived in Round Rock for the past twenty years. My 
husband and I have been married for 18 years. We have two beautiful children, 
one girl and one boy. My oldest, Chelsea is starting her junior year of high 
school and my youngest, Cameron will be a sophomore. They both attend Cedar 
Ridge High School.  Both of my children are former Gattis Gators! We also 
have two sweet dogs that have been with our family since my children were 
toddlers and we adopted a new cat this summer (Lucy).  This summer I applied 
for a grant so that we can have a classroom pet this year also.  If it all 
works out, we will be getting a leopard gecko!

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching my kids 
play sports, traveling to new places, reading, gardening, and volunteering at 
the Williamson County Animal Shelter.  
  
I have been working with children for many years in a variety of settings.  I 
graduated from The University of Texas.  I have a huge passion for children 
and thoroughly enjoy my job as a teacher.  Working at Gattis for the past six 
years has been a very rewarding experience for me. Previous to my current 
position, I ran a home childcare/preschool business for five years.

I would like to invite you to visit our classroom on Friday evening, August 
19th from 6:30-7:00 so your child can bring his or her school supplies to our 
class and have a chance to become familiar with our room before the opening 
day.  Our classroom is located in room 419.  For those unable to attend, I 
look forward to seeing you bright and early at 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday, August 
23rd.

It is our goal at Gattis Elementary to ensure that our families are happy and 
satisfied with what we do. With this in mind, if you have questions or
