online!

Here’s how it works:

1. Use the information below to access the Scholastic Book Clubs Web 
site.
2. Browse the titles with your child and place your order with your credit 
card.
3. Your order will come to me, and your credit card payment will go directly 
to Scholastic’s secure server. There’s no need to send money to school.
4. After I submit the entire class order to Scholastic, your order will be 
delivered to our classroom for your child to take home.

To get started, go to the Web address below and enter our class’s 
personalized user name and password in the sign-in fields on the right side 
of the page. Note: You do not need to create your own user name and password.

Listen to a book online at home!!!! (Read below for details)

This is a fantastic resource on our "Campus Research Resources" page under 
the library link.  http://schools.roundrockisd.org/gattis/library/library.htm

It is excellent for students who would like to or benefit from following 
along with the text inside of a book as it is read aloud to them. Just go to 
the Library web site and click on "Research Resources"  and scroll to the 
bottom.

A few reminders:

The weekly "At A Glance" inside the "Daily Folder" needs to be signed 
by a parent, grandparent, aunt, etc. every night after the homework is 
completed by the student.  This document also gives a daily update on the 
behavior of your student.

It is important that the "Reading Log" on the "At A Glance" is filled out and
signed every night after your student reads.

If your student fails a spelling test, they need to rewrite every word that 
they got incorrect five times each, get it signed by their parent or 
guardian and then return it back to me by the date written on the test 
(usually 2 days). If the test is returned to me in time they will receive a 
70% instead of their original grade.

Other graded assignments that receive a grade below a 70% will be sent home 
in the daily folder. These assignments will need to be redone, signed by a 
parent and returned by the due date written at the top of the paper. If the 
assignment is returned to me by the deadline, signed by a parent and 
corrected the student will get their grade changed to a 70%.

Finally, please look over your student's graded work inside the "Gator 
folder" every Wednesday so that you are aware of their progress throughout 
each grading period.
