About The Teacher
Welcome to Gattis Elementary! I am excited to be your child’s Kindergarten teacher. I would like to tell you about myself. I grew up in Harlingen, Texas and graduated from the Texas State University with a BA in Communications and a teaching certification from the University of Texas. I have been teaching for 19 years. During my first year, I taught 4th grade in Lyford, Texas. My parents,sister and niece live in Harlingen, Texas. My other niece lives in Austin. I joined the Gattis team the year after the school opened. I taught 4th Grade my first year at Gattis. I always had a desire to teach Kindergarten. While in College, I taught children from 6 months to 4 years at several daycares. I have been a Kindergarten teacher at Gattis for 19 years. I have a wonderful family which includes: Jim, mom and dad, my sister, and two nieces. Sydney is 4 and Jordan is 15. I love my family and love teaching Kindergarten. I am excited about teaching your child. We will have a fabulous year! Lisa Sanford
