Peak of the Week January 11

Notes:

Thanks to all who contributed glue. It's not too late...we use it quickly!

Be sure and look in your child’s folder each night and return the folder the following day. Sign the folder at the end of the each week.

Please have your child do their reading and homework spiral nightly.

Early Release January 15 at 12:15.

Student Holiday on January 18.

Our weekly block schedule will be as follows:

Monday PE

Tuesday PE

Wednesday Art

Thursday Music

Friday PE

Language Arts:

Readers make sure what they read makes sense, sounds right and looks right

  Readers use all sources of information to fix tricky parts by cross ccheck

Readers use strategies to fix up any problem in their reading and self correct

Writing

Writers think about and plan their fiction stories before writing

Writers develop their fiction stories in ways that will support their reader, just like published authors.

Writers choose one story to publish, and rewrite it in picture book form.

Math

Review Patterns/numbers to 20

Work to develop an understanding of the concepts of more and less.

Science/Social Studies

Animals and their needs
