Arrival and Dismissal
The school day begins at 8:00 and dismissal begins at 3:00. Children should
not arrive at school prior to 7:45. Children who arrive to school before
7:45 go to the gym with the other students, monitored by a teacher. At 7:55
students are dismissed to their classrooms. Students not in the room by
8:15 are tardy. I begin my Reading program right at 8:00, so it is very
important for your child's reading success that they arrive on time.
Transportation Changes
Any changes in transportation need to be in writing to the teacher that
morning.
School Attendance
Your child's regular attendance is crucial to his or her success in school.
We do many activities that are group oriented, and a day of absence or
tardiness may mean your child will miss out on concepts and experiences
learned that cannot easily be duplicated. Please help me by making it a
priority to get your child here except in cases of illness. THANK YOU! I
don't want your child missing out.
Lunch Time and Visitors
11:05-11:35 Visitors are always welcome!
Conference Time
8:50-9:35 Please email or call for any conference requests. I can also meet before or after school if
that works out better.
Volunteers and Visitors
Volunteers and visitors are always welcome! If you're planning on visiting,
please send a note to let me know ahead of time. Volunteers are a much-
needed valuable asset to our program! Let me know if you would like to help
in any way including, but not limited to: copying, bulletin boards, buddy
read, website work, making manipulatives, science experiments, etc. As
always, check in at the office first.
Absence Notes
Please send an absence note to me the next day so your child's absence will
be recorded as excused.
Birthdays
It's always fun to have a birthday! You or your child may bring a treat for
the whole class on his or her birthday. Treats will be taken to the lunch
room to be shared with the class the last 10 minutes of lunch break. Please
do not send birthday invitations to be handed out to individual people as
this causes hurt feelings. Invitations may be sent if including all boys or
all girls.
