Week of December 1
Our Thanksgiving Feast was a HUGE success! Thank you so much for all the goodies you brought, all the help you provided, and for all the supplies you sent in! We really can't do anything well without your help!!! The kids were excited about making the corn husk dolls. The treats were incredibly delicious. Let's do it again soon...how about Christmas???
The Amazing Weather PowerPoints are now viewable. Click on the "Classroom Projects" link on the left, and you will be able to see these projects the students completed while learning about Weather.
Nutcracker News!!!!! My son Timothy and I are in the BAHBT's version of the Nutcracker at UofH Clear Lake. Here are the times and days of our performances: Saturday, Dec 6 7:30 pm Sunday, Dec 7 2:00 Friday, Dec 12 7:30 Saturday, Dec 13 2:00 You can get your tickets at www.BAHBT.org if you wish to go!
Christmas party book exchange: We will have the students bring one book for another student in the class. We will be having a book swap (make sure the book is under $5 and is wrapped) during the Christmas party instead of a gift exchange. More info about food to be in a letter coming home this week.
Have your child mention our code word of the week...Holland....and they will receive 5 pennies for their penny jars!
Homework: Please check their folders for their daily homework sheet. All students also need to study spelling. The words are challenging for all, no matter which list they are studying. Thanks!
Spelling: Look again on Monday:-)
Reading:
Writing:
Math: We will continue with our fractious fractions as well as begin counting money.
Science: The saga begins as we discover the love/hate relationships magnets have towards others as they are either attracted or repeled by those around them. Will Northern Ned be attracted to Southern Sally? Tune in next week...
Social Studies: We will begin our 3 week unit on Christmas Around the World! Each day the students will go visit another 2nd grade classroom and learn about how another country celebrates Christmas.
Thanks for all you do!
