Welcome to 3rd grade! I am very excited to spend the 2009-2010 school year
teaching your children. I am planning an awesome year for all of us!
Just to let you know a bit about me:
This is my 12th year to work in RRISD and my 7th year at Great Oaks. I have
spent the past four years at Great Oaks working with 4th and 5th grade
students. The variety of my experiences have given me the tools to prepare
your children for their academic future. Prior to being an educator in RRISD,
I home schooled my own three daughters for seven years. All three girls
graduated from RRISD, two from Round Rock HS and one from Westwood HS.
I grew up in Florida, so I am not partial to any particular Texas University
though I did graduate from Texas State. I am more partial to music than sports
so you won't find me choosing sides for football or universities! My family is
very important to me. My husband David and I have been married for 30 years.
We have three terrific daughters - Jessica (24), Lisa (22), and Jane (19). We
also have a crazy cocker spaniel dog named Loca who keeps us company since all
of our girls are grown or in college.
I am grateful to be a part of the largest team of teachers on the Great Oaks
campus. Though there are nine 3rd grade classes, we work closely together to
plan, teach, supervise and nurture your children. This partnership extends
throughout the campus as well as with the families of our students. Our goal
is to have your children become successful, well rounded individuals, and to
instill a love of learning that will remain with them as they grow.
