Dear Parents,
I hope you are all doing well and staying warm. I don't know about you but I'm ready for some nice Spring weather!
Here is an update of some upcoming events and things we are learning in class:
The students have been working very hard on three different TAKS assessments called PAKS tests. (Practice TAKS test) They took the Reading, Writing and Math. I will let you know if I have a concern about your child’s score, and if would like to find out the results, just let me know.
Here is a breakdown of what we have been studying and what we will be learning about :
WRITING!!!!
There will be a big focus on writing over the next few weeks as we ready the kids for Camp Write Along and the Writing TAKS test. The two primary skills we’ll be focusing on are elaboration and revising and editing. We just started a new composition on: Write a story about your favorite place. It would be great if you could have a converstation about this tonight to spark some ideas!

The Friday before camp, (February 19th at 2:00 p.m.) we will need donations for camp related décor and a few helping hands to get our classroom decked out in a camp gear.
