Hi Parents,
We had another exciting week! Wednesday was 100’s day! The class had a great
time at the party. After the celebration, we worked on several fun activities
involving 100. The class made a prediction on how many times they could write
their name in 100 seconds, they wrote in their journals, and they created a
picture of themselves at 100 years of age!
The Valentine’s party is next Friday. Please send in your items for the party
by next Wednesday. Your child may bring in his/her valentines as soon as they
are ready. Each child will deliver the valentines. Remember there are 22
kiddos! (The class will decorate a sack.) The party will be on Friday, Feb
12th from 8:15-9:30. Candy is OK to bring with their cards too. Please
remember we are a peanut free school. Please let me know if you can help at
the party. As of now, we have three parents. Our class will be responsible
for two station activities—Mouse Valentine and Sucker Pull. I will have all
of the materials ready. It is nice when parents can take turns helping at a
station and still have time to be with their child.
Also, we are now halfway through our kindergarten year. We are already
starting to pick up speed in our routine and skills. We will be working hard
in reading, writing, and problem solving. Independence in both academic and
social activities will be strongly encouraged/ expected for the remainder of
the year in order to better prepare ourselves for the transition into first
grade.
Each student will need a toilet tissue roll. We will use these for a project
when we are learning about Rocks. Thanks.
Homework for this week: Valentine cards for the party. If you need another
list, let me know.
If you go to the GOE website, click on teams, Kinder, you will see a link for
student work next to my name. This will show you work that your child created
in the computer lab.
