2-5-10
You may notice that the snow and winter scene on my teacher web page is gone.
I don't know about you, but I'm ready for some sun! (I'm willing to try
anything!)
I can't believe that it's already February. Where has the time gone? I guess
time does fly when you are having fun!
This week we had a blast learning all about the number 100. We celebrated the
100th day of school on Wednesday with a huge celebration. Next week we will
learn about patriotism and also have some fun with valentine activities. Our
valentine party will be on Friday, February 12th at 8:15. The students will
be enjoying various games and activites in each of the kindergarten
classrooms. In math next week we will revisit graphing.
We have been working hard in our writing journals this week. The stamina is
building and most students can now fill up their page with good sentences
that have spaces and punctuation. It's so exciting to see! I still have to
give reminders about writing in lower case letters, but overall the progress
has been fabulous! If you haven't had a chance to read our day/night
paragraphs on the board in the hallway, please stop by for a peek. (We are
hoping to impress the first grade teachers across the hall!)
Good news! Our class in now going to wellness as one whole group. I know that
it may not seem like a big deal, but when you have a class that's been split
about seven ways for specials, this is huge! The class is loving being
together and I have already received many compliments from Mr. C.! As of now
we are divided in half for art and for music. (Your child will continue to
have the same art and music teacher.)
If you haven't had a chance to view your child's computer lab work online,
it's available now. Go to the Great Oaks web page. Click on teams,
kindergarten, Mrs. O. and then view student work. You should see about 5
postings from our work in the computer lab. Enjoy!
