Mr. Garrels has just moved to Austin from his home state of Iowa. He is a
graduate of Central College which is a private college in Pella, Iowa. His
degree is in secondary vocal music education. Mr. Garrels has a diverse
resume. He has been an assistant kindergarten teacher, elementary general
music instructor, middle school and high school choral teacher, and a
beginning and high school band instructor.
Mr. Garrels is thrilled to be teaching at Westwood High School!
To learn the basics of choral singing in a variety of styles as well to
develop student musicianship and music appreciation across musical genres.
