3. Where it says line spacing, change it to say Double.
4. In the Spacing before and after boxes, make sure it is set to 0 pt.
5. Hit ok. Now your paper is double spaced.
Also, set your Margins to "narrow" before printing.
Writer’s Workshop Checklist:
1. Get out your rough draft. If there are multiple pages, staple them
together.
2. Using the list of “no-no” words (ask me for one), circle all the ones you
find in your paper. Replace them with better word choices.
3. Bracket the first word of every sentence. Do you often start sentences
with the same word? Don’t! Make changes if necessary.
4. Read the paper backward, underlining words that you think could be
misspelled. Use a dictionary or ask for help to make sure the words are
spelled correctly.
5. Using two different colored pens, pencils, or markers, underline each
sentence in your paper, alternating colors. This will help you see sentences
that may be run-ons or fragments. If you find a sentence that is
questionable – change it, or ask for help!
6. Check that you have at least four separate paragraphs in your paper. If
you do not, indicate where you will indent to create new paragraphs.
7. Using the “To Be” verbs (ask me for one), circle all
the “to be” verbs in your paper. Replace at least half of them with more
exciting verbs.
