About The Teacher

This is my eighth year to teach Language Arts at Grisham Middle School. I
love being a part of the Grisham Grizzly family!

I am a proud member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2001 (WHOOP!):)

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English from Texas A&M University in 2001
and then my Masters of Education (Curriculum and Instruction) in 2003, also
from TAMU. I graduated from high school in Lumberton, Texas, although I
moved almost every two years while I was growing up. I have lived in
Florida, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Kansas, and in many different Texas
towns.

I am the oldest of four children. I have a sister who also
graduated from Texas A&M and has recently gotten married. I also have a
brother who just graduated from the United States Military Academy at West
Point, and is currently stationed in Iraq. My youngest sister recently
graduated from high school and is taking classes in Bryan, Texas. Last summer
I became an aunt to baby Hallie Jayne, who just turned one!

I have been married to my husband since 2006! We recently purchased our home
in Round Rock and have been spending lots of time remodeling inside and out,
especially working in the vegetable garden.

As you can see from my photos, I am a big animal lover and I have a large
animal family! Over the years I have cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, turtles,
and more...even chickens! Currently I am a mommy to three wonderful beagles -
Brodie, Indigo, and Lucy. Brodie is actually Indigo's father! Indigo's
mommy, Gretel, and two of Indigo's brothers, Andy and Prometheus, live with
my parents in Lumberton.

This year will be very different because not only will I be a mommy to my
beagles, in October I will be a mommy to a baby! I will have more
information about my maternity leave and substitute as it becomes available.
