UIL Middle School Academic Competition Coming Up!

The competition will be held Saturday, March 1st at C.D. Fulkes Middle School. Events are held at 9:00 and 10:30.

Students may ride the bus from Grisham or parents are invited to drive their child and sign out to leave when the event is over. Concessions are sold and results posted as soon as the grading is completed. Students receive ribbons for 1st – 6th place and the school receives points for each ribbon earned. The school with the most points wins sweepstakes.

Students at Grisham have been very successful at competition and had a lot of fun! In 2007, the 6th graders placed 1st, the 7th graders placed 2nd and the 8th graders placed 2nd competing against the seven other middle schools in the district! Way to go Grizzlies!!!!

Listed below are the events, coaches, the coach’s room number, and time of event on March 1st. Signup sheets will be posted outside the “coach’s” door beginning December10th. Practice will be once a week at a time and location posted by the coach. Some events may hold tryouts due to the high number of students who sign up. Twelve students may participate in each event. Students are welcome to participate in two events as long as one is tested at 9:00 and the other event tested at 10:30 on Saturday, March 1st.
