About The Teacher
After three years as a Literacy Coach at Grisham Middle School, I will be teaching 8th grade Language Arts this school year. I am looking forward to an exciting school year. This is my fourteenth year in the education field. I have taught 8th grade English Language Arts and Reading/Writing Remediation classes for 4 years in a middle school in Long Island, New York. After receiving my M.S. degree in Reading, I acquired a new position and became the Reading Consultant/Specialist of that same middle school. I also had the opportunity to supervise graduate students enrolled in the Literacy Program at a private college in Long Island, New York. In 2008, my husband and I decided to move to Austin, TX as my two grown children embarked on a separate journey(their careers.) We love it here. I am fortunate to be a part of Grisham Grizzlies.

The Mission for Language Arts is to facilitate student mastery of the 8th grade TEKS, and encourage development of reading, writing and presentation skills needed for success in high school and the world beyond.
