Dear Parents and Students:
It is my pleasure to be teaching your child 8th Grade Science. I am excited
about the year and expect it to be a productive one. Please call me with
any questions or concerns as they arise during the school year. My
classroom number is 428-2718. Emails are always welcomed, too. Below you
will find a summary of the topics we will cover this year as well as my
classroom policies and procedures.

Grading:
The following system is used to calculate grades.
50% - Unit Tests, Projects
20% - Quizes
20% - Daily classwork, Labs
10% - Homework

Supplies:
Students should have the following materials in class every day.
1. Grisham planner – for recording daily agendas and homework
assignments
2. Notebook,spiral or composition book and pen/pencil.

Make-up work: It is the student's responsibility to ask for any work
that was missed due to an absence. There are folders on a desk inder the
fire blanket which hold extra copies of work.

Classroom Rules:
Students are expected to follow all school and district rules listed in the
handbook. Here are my additional class rules:
1.	Bring materials to class everyday.
2.	Be in assigned seat and ready to begin class
3.	Only 1 pass per six weeks will be given. Additional passes will
        come from your planner points.
4.	Observe all lab safety rules.
5.	Realize that your success lies in your own hands.
