Grading Policy

7^th grade Texas History Grading Policy

August 2007

Texas History classes will be grading on a point system this year.  Each student has been provided with a page in their ISN that they can use to help track their assignments and grades.  There is also a page on this website that will list all the graded assignments to date.  Beginning September 10th, parents will be able to access the grades via the Home Access feature of the RRISD website.

100 points       Class Work/Homework

100 points       Quizzes

200 points       Multiple Choice portion of Tests

50 points       Short Answer/Essay portion of Tests (please note change)

300 points       Projects

Students are encouraged to do their work when it is assigned and turn it in on time.  Students with excused absences receive time equal to days missed to complete the work.

Late Work: 

Any daily assignment turned in late will receive a grade of no higher than a 70.

SaturdaySchool:

Grisham will be holding SaturdaySchool this year for students who have 2 or more outstanding assignments in their classes by Thursday morning each week.  This time is intended to be a positive, helpful environment to allow students to catch up.  Student and parent will be notified if they are assigned to a SaturdaySchool session.  Assignments completed at SaturdaySchool will receive a grade no higher than 50 (this is much easier on a student average than a zero).
