History Day Update - November 2009
Grisham had an awesome representation at
the UT / Cen-Tex History Day workshop with more than 50 parents and students
in attendance. Our project completion deadline is closing in. The school wide
event will be held from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, November 17th. Our Annual Parade of
Cultures is our sister event this evening with music, cultural artifacts and
great food. Mark you calendar to come and bring the family!
Wecome to History Day 2009-2010
Innovation in History:
Impact and Change
Grisham Middle School is the only middle
school in RRISD to offer students the outstanding academic / indpendent study
opportunity of National History Day. Learning the components of research and
project development, participating in our campus History Day Event,
potentially representing our school at the Cen-Tex History Day, Texas State
History Day and even the National History Day, is a fabulous learning
adventure for students.
Please connect frequently with your student
to on topic selection, project choices and research progress. This will be an
ongoing converstation in our classroom. In school time will be spent learning
the "how-to" aspects of a project of this scope. Research, writing and
creation will take place at home.
Handouts are available on my History Day
Handouts page. There are essential links to the LJB Library / Cen-Tex History
Day, The Texas State History Day and National History Day sites on the History
Day Links page.
