I am delighted to be teaching Texas History for the 2nd year at Grisham.
Teaching is my third career. I enjoy working with middle school students
and pursued alternative teaching certification. As a Communications
graduate of Michigan State University I worked in advertising in upstate New
York. Our family has lived in New York, Connecticut, Florida, Pennsylvia and
finally Texas. In the 10 years we have been in Austin I have been involved
at Grisham as parent, PTA volunteer, substitute teacher, Collaborative
Teacher Support and now teaching Texas History! Our family moved to Austin
in 1998. Our oldest daughter will graduate from UNT in 2009, our youngest
is a junior at Westwood.
Our mission as a class will be to gain an understanding of the geography,
people and events that have molded Texas into the state it is today. We
will explore the past and examine the present, connecting and relating what
we learn to the world around us.
