This is my fourth year teaching and coaching at Grisham.
I graduated from The University of Kansas in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science
in Education. I hold a teaching certificate in Physical Education K-12.
The next few years will be a time of tremendous physical, social and
emotional change for our students. Our mission is to create an environment
that challenges the students to develop unique abilities and strive to reach
their best physically, academically and socially. The goals for the Grisham
Middle School Physical Education Program are to help the students:
Better understand their body and how it functions during physical
activity
Acquire and maintain a high level of physical fitness.
Develop a variety of sports skills.
Become more responsible mentally, socially, emotionally and
physically.
Assume responsibility for their personal health and well-being
through an active lifestyle.
The benefits derived from the physical education program depend upon the
amount of effort and positive attitude which a student displays. Physical
education is an activity oriented class designed to develop and maintain
healthy habits that lead to increased levels of physical fitness. The
overall aim of the class is to help students develop lifelong fitness skills
that include regular exercise and sport.
