TAPED ASSIGNMENTS For Members of the Grisham Honors Band
First tape due September 27th, 2004
1. Scales – play all 6 scales without stopping the tape. If you make a
mistake, please rewind and start over with 1st scale.
2. Chromatic Scales – no mistakes
3. 2nd district piece – this must be played with a metronome set on the
appropriate tempo.
Second tape due October 12th, 2004
1. 1st district piece – this must be played with a metronome set on
the appropriate tempo
2. 3rd district piece – this must be played with a metronome set on the
appropriate tempo
Third tape due October 25, 2004
1. 1st district piece played with a metronome
2. 2nd district piece played with a metronome
3. 3rd district piece played with a metronome
4. 6 major scales with no stops on the tape between scales
5. chromatic scale
Late tapes will have 25 points deducted from the grade.
Tapes may not be made at school on the day that they are due.
Please rewind tapes to the beginning of your assignment.
Make sure you have your name on the outside of the tape case and also say
your name at the start of your tape.
Make every effort to turn in a tape free of mistakes – this is a MAJOR
GRADE!!!!!!
All district pieces must be played with a metronome!
(15 points will be deducted if a metronome is not heard)
Bronze, Silver, and Gold will be awarded only if you state tempo clearly on
the tape and if it is free of mistakes.
