Friday Agenda

Please do NOT go to Word and make any changes until you can show me evidence of the following steps:

1. Have someone check and label your paper for CONFLICT and RESOLUTION. Have this person sign your paper.

2.  Have someone edit your paper for errors. Have this person sign your paper.

3. Staple your 11 titles to the back of your paper.

4. Once you have received teacher approval, open word and begin making changes on your document. Highlight the changes on your rough draft as you make them on the computer.

Final Checklist - - - Final Draft

1. The body font can be between 10 and 14. The title font may be 20.

2. Change the line spacing back to single spacing for the final draft.

3. Check the length of your paper. Single-spaced, it should not be more than two pages.

4. Check that your name and the date are at the top of the first page.

5. Have you...

-indented at the start of each paragraph?

-indented each time a new character speaks?

-punctuated all dialogue correctly?

6. Are you positive that your story has a conflict, and that you have successfully resolved that conflict within your story?

7. Once you feel confident that you have completed these six steps, please ask a teacher if you may print.

9. After printing your final copy, staple it to the front of your rough draft, which should be stapled on top of your 11 titles. Staple your green self-evaluation to the top of everything. Complete the self-evaluation and score yourself in pencil on the rubric. Do NOT fill in the formula at the bottom of the page.

10. Turn in your packet (rubric, self-evaluation, final draft, rough draft, and titles).

Before you print a rough draft:

o   Is your font size 12 or 14 for the body?  Is it size 20 for the title?

o   Did you double space?
