Do you give homework?

Not usually, but unfinished classwork is sometimes sent home to
finish.
Students usually have a weekly reading log to do throughout the
week as well.

What did my child make on the spelling test?

All graded work (and most practice) is in the graded paper folder
which is
sent home once a week.

What is the discipline management plan?

Each child starts the day with their clip in purple. Each time a
rule is
broken the student moves their clip from purple to green to
yellow, or to
red. Each move of the clip is also losing one point off the
conduct and 5
minutes of recess lost as well.Discipline notes are often sent
home when a
student signs the book repeatedly.

Do I have to sign the reading log everyday?

Students must read for 60 minutes on the reading log each week.
Everytime
something is recorded on the log a parent/guardian must sign it.

Do students get a grade for AR tests?

AR is not graded unless the teacher has read the novel in the
classroom with
the class. The teacher may then require the student to take the
AR test and
record that grade. Rewards are given for participating in AR and
is
strongly encouraged.

Is it necessary to sign the planner every night?

Yes, it is! That is is our best resource for communication with
you! We will
try very hard to put all important information in that planner --
regarding
individual items of business as well as school happenings,
assignments,
tests, and special events. Behavior/discipline for the day is
also marked in
the planner.
