| Helpful hints for Spanish success:
--Get plenty of sleep! (I need your "cerebro" to be in tip-top shape!)
--Practice your Spanish everyday! After you learn a word, say it in Spanish
every time you see it in your everyday life. Write it down in a journal a
few times and repeat it as often as necessary to retain it.
--Label everything ~ with your parent's permission, of course! You can help
yourself learn vocabulary by putting big labels or signs on objects for the
vocabulary we're learning like "la puerta" (door) or "la mesa" (table). Be
careful with "el perro!"
--Watch T.V. and listen to the radio in español! It's a great way to pick
up the rhythm of the language and also listen for cognates! (Anyone
for a little "Maya and Miguel"?)
--Read books and magazines targeted for children in español!
--Make flashcards! A fun idea is to write the Spanish word on one side and
then put a picture with the meaning or a clue on the other side. Carry
these with you so you can study wherever!
--Study, study, and study some more! Remember that, just as with anything
that you do, you can only succeed with plenty of practice!
