The third graders have been busy working on place value of numbers through 999,999.  They have learned to read, write, compare and order these large numbers.  We are currently working on rounding and estimation.  Please have your child practice rounding numbers to the nearest ten and hundred.  It is also important that you work with your child on basic additon and subtraction facts.  This past Friday we had our Grandparents' Day program at the communtiy center.  The kids did an absolutely wonderful job.  I am proud of each of them.  This week is homecoming.  The parade will begin at 4:30.  Next month is the Fall Festival.  The third graders will have a hockey booth.  I have really enjoyed getting to know these kids.  They are an awesome class.  I call them my thinking third.

 

The fourth graders have been working on place value of whole numbers and decimals.  We are currently working on addition and subtraction of whole numbers and decimals.  The fourth graders have also begun taking multiplication tests.  Please work with your child for a few minutes each day so that he/she can master these facts.  The fourth graders are a great group of kids.  I call them my fab fourth!
