BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
HOORAY! HORRAY! HOORAY! For the 2006-2007 school year, we were able to
collect 2510 Box Top coupons. Thanks to the teacher, parents and students
support, the school received $250 from General Mills to help the ISI
Library Media Center.

For 2007-2008, we hope to collect 3000 Box Top coupons. As of November 2007,
we have collected 1,828 coupons. We really need continuing support from
students, parents, staff and teachers to help us reach our goal. If you need
more information, please contact Sr. Jill, Librarian at 972-812-2222.

OFFICE DEPOT - 5% BACK TO SCHOOL PROGRAM
This program gives parents, teachers and community members an opportunity to
help ISI receive credits for free supplies when you shop at Office Depot for
your child's school supplies. Here's how:
- Buy qualifying student school supplies at Office Depot.
- Designate the Islamic School of Irving to receive 5% of your qualifying
purchase (ISI Code Number: 70200079)
- Office Depot will tally the qualifying purchases made during the program
period.
- Office Depot will award ISI 5% of the qualifying purchases in credits the
school can use for free supplies!

For a list of qualifying student school supply items, please visit the
Office Depot Store nearest you.

KROGER SHARE CARD
The Islamic School of Irving is now a member of the Kroger Share Card
program.

Each time parents, teachers and community members shop at any Kroger store
in Texas and Louisiana, present a share card to the checker before they
begin to ring up your order. Ask the checker to "scan" the card and 1% of
all purchases in a year will be donated to ISI.

If you would like to get a card, please see Sr. Malika, Administrative
Assistant. You can also email Sr. Jill, Librarian, or call her at 972-812-
2222 to have cards mailed out to you. Please give the cards to friends and
family that shop at Kroger as well. Every bit helps!

BAKE SALE
Bake sales have been one of the most popular ways of raising funds for the
school since December 2006. Parents are encouraged to sign up with homeroom
teachers to help in the bake sales.

With effect from April 17, 2007 all PTO sponsored events including bake sale
must be approved by the school administration. Copies of the ISI Event
Checklist can be obtained from Sr. Malika, Administrative Assistant. Prior
approval must be obtained from Sr. Shahnaz, Assistant Principal, at least
one week before the event date.

Please feel free to contact the PTO Board if you have any questions.

PAPER RECYCLING
Dear Families of Islamic School of Irving student:

You can recycle paper at our campus 7 days a week.

We earn money for paper dropped off at our green and yellow Abitibi Paper
Retriever® bin.

In 2007, we received $34.11 for recycling 7.06 tons of paper!

This is an easy way for you to recycle your paper every week and help us
raise money for projects like classroom supplies, printing services and
other worthwhile activities.

Please remember to bring your paper and drop it in the Abitibi Paper
Retriever® bin. This bin is free to use, just bring us your paper!

We accept:
Newspaper
Magazines
Shopping Catalogs
Office and School Papers
Mail

We do NOT accept: Plastic, Metal & Glass

Please add recycling to your errand route and bring your paper by once a
week – help your school and the environment!

Thank you for your support of this important fund-raising effort.

For more information, log on to PaperRetriever.com or call the school office
at (972) 812-2222.

USED INK CARTRIDGES AND CELL PHONES RECYCLING
We have just started a new recycling program - collecting used inkjet and
laser printer cartridges and cell phones.

We are helping keep the earth clean while earning new equipment and cash.
You can make a difference and help us earn even more by bringing your used
ink cartridges and cell phones to the Library Media Center during school
hours.

If you have any questions about this recycling program, please feel free to
contact Sr. Jill, Librarian, at 972-812-2222.
