Friday, 5/16/2008: PSIA "A" State Meet Award Ceremony

================================================

Assalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu.

Dear ISI Parents and Teachers:

All Praises due to Allah SWT for the great success that He has bestowed on
our students today.

I would like to extend my heartiest congratulations to all finalists who went
to the Private Schools Interscholastic Association (PSIA) State Meet at the
Texas Christian University (TCU) today May 3rd, 2008. As representatives of
the Islamic School of Irving, our students achieved yet another prestigious
milestone at the time of accreditation for SACS standards.

We are fortunate enough to witness how the collective effort of parents,
teachers, and students during the competitive season can bring forth fruits
of academic success. ISI students have improved upon their previous
performances and brought home more recognition this year than ever. Our
school takes pride in students who have placed 1st-6th in seven categories
in the state level, more than a three-fold increase than last year.

Our gratitude for this success goes to our parents, teachers, volunteers, and
the ISI School Board who committed themselves to our stellar students. I
would like to particularly recognize the motivating parents and teachers who
dedicated their time and accompanied our finalists to the day-long state
meet.

Inshallah, may our new finalists and winners encourage all our students to
strive for their fullest potential. Ameen.

Best Regards,
Shahnaz Chowdhury
Asst. Principal

A note from Sr. Shahnaz Chowdhury, Assistant Principal

On behalf of the teachers and the staff I want to thank you to celebrate the
joyous occasion of ISI participants to the PSIA contest. All participants,
about 6 fathers and 25 mothers attended the occasion.

We thank the following students/parents/teachers for giving us their honest
feedback:

Students: Manaal (5th grade), Arif (3rd grade) and Zuhair (4th grade)

Teachers/Parents: Sr. Eram, Sr. Massouda, Sr. Ashath, Br. Tayseer, Br.
Bashir, Br. Arshad, Br. Usman, Sr. Lubna and Sr. Shahida.

I thank all the parents who shared their concerns and voiced their discontent
at the way the event was organized. Please keep sending your views to me as
your suggestions are important.

We shared a good forum and came to a mutual agreement that the collaboration
of parents, teachers, volunteers and administration is essential for the
success of such programs.

ISI will designate more teachers to spearhead the PSIA event next year insha
Allah.

Thanks for a great partnership in learning.
