5/7/2008 ISI LMC Makeover - Special Thanks to Helpers
Assalamu'alaikum Dear Teachers and Parents,
You are most welcome to stop by and see the new changes in the LMC. Invaluable feedback, hard
work
and a clear focus on our library users' needs all transformed the ISI Library Media Center in
just
three days.
Insha'Allah we hope that this transformation makes the LMC more inviting and comfortable for our
students and teachers.

The LMC will be closed this month as Sr. Anita and Sr. Jill start to wrap up for the school
year. We will be taking inventory of the library collection, spring cleaning the LMC, repairing
damaged and worn books, sending out reminders for overdue books and purchasing new books for
next school year. We apologize for any inconveniences caused.

Report from TLA Conference: Sr. Anita and Sr. Jill brought back lots of wonderful ideas to
implement
exciting library programs for next school year. Special thanks to Sr. Rebeka Sultana for helping
us
to collect returned library books and to Sr. Ashley Stucki for helping us with the chocolate sale
during our absence.
LMC Graffiti Wall 4/14/2008-4/22/2008: The annual LMC Graffiti Wall was filled with creative
writing
and beautiful drawings of students' favorite books. Thanks to all teachers and students who
participated in this fun activity.
4/15/08-4/18/08: Sr. Anita and Sr. Jill will be attending the Texas Library Association
Conference at the Dallas Convention Center from Tuesday, 4/15 to Friday, 4/18. The LMC will be
closed during this time. We apologize for any inconveniences caused.

school papers and mail were collected by students from Pre-K3 to 7th Grade.

3/27/2008 New Equipment @ LMC
Dear Teachers, Parents and Students,
By the grace of Allah SWT and your generous contributions, the ISI Library Media Center
purchased two new equipment, an LCD multimedia projector and a document camera, for classroom
use. Purchase of these equipment is funded by PTO Penny Drive, Library Book Fair, LMC School
Supplies Sale and LMC Candy/Chocolate Sale.
These equipment allow teachers to project text and illustrations from books, magazines,
newspapers electronically on the projector screen . Using these equipment also reduces the
number of paper copies needed to be made for each student.
Once again, thank you all for your continuing support and generous contributions to make ISI a
success!

Welcome back to school, students and teachers!
