Before becoming a teacher, I was in the USAF for several years. After
getting out of the service, I moved to Australia and finished off my Bachelors
degree in Behavior Science and Psychology. I then returned to Texas and
eventually found my career was not challenging and rewarding for me. Having
two parents who were wonderful teachers, I decided I wanted to continue the
tradition so I went back to school to become a certified Special Education
Teacher.
Since becoming a teacher, I have taught Applied Skills, Life Skills in
middle school, and Inclusion teaching for K-2 here at Jollyville. Last year I
became a Certified Wilson Reading Specialist and I have started working on my
post-graduate work in Elementary Education and Reading.
I am very happy to be in the new Functional Academics Classroom this year and
hope to continue a program that serves all the needs of our students.
