I am extremely excited to be teaching at Jollyville this year!  I recently graduated from the University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'Em Horns!), where I received a degree in Elementary Education with a Reading specialization.  I had the opportunity to be a part of the Jollyville family last year as a second grade teacher.  I am thrilled to be moving to first grade and  I can't wait to get started reading!  

I am the oldest of four children.  I have two sisters (they are twins) and one brother!  I grew up in Gainesville, Texas, which is a small town north of Dallas.  I lived there for seventeen years before moving to Austin for college.  Growing up, I ALWAYS knew I wanted to be a teacher.  So much that I even enlisted my three younger siblings as my students!  I have a very strong passion for reading.  My mom says I made her read with me so much that she eventually learned to read in her sleep!  My favorite book was Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. 

Outside of school I love taking pictures, going to UT football games, and of course, I still love reading.  I also enjoy spending time with my amazing family and wonderful friends. 

I am looking forward to meeting all of my students and I know I will learn so much from them!  I am very excited about the year that lies ahead.  I can't wait for the learning experiences we will all share together!
