About Mrs. Johnson

I’m so excited to be teaching at Jollyville this year. First grade is such an
amazing year for so much growth. You will be amazed at what your child will
learn and how he or she will develop as the year prolongs. I’m thrilled to be
your child’s teacher for this monumental time in their life. I know your
child means the world to you, and I don’t take it lightly that they are in my
classroom. I promise to guide and encourage them to being the best they can
be.
I grew up in Houston, Texas in a family of four. I have one sister who just
graduated from the University of Texas in Petroleum Engineering. I graduated
from Memorial High School, where I met my husband, and attended the
University of Texas, where I finally fell in love with my husband. I married
Patrick Johnson December 2009 and have loved marriage ever since. My husband
will be attending Law School and the University of Texas this fall. I taught
kindergarten for two years at Cactus ranch Elementary in RRISD and this past
year my husband and I took a full time college ministry position with Campus
Crusade for Christ at the University of Texas. I’m thrilled to be back in the
classroom and in RRISD.
This summer my husband and I lived in Santa Cruz, CA and helped college
students grow in their faith. We came back to Austin in July and decided to
become gardeners. Needless to say we are learning (Next step- a dog). Some of
my favorite things to do are going to church, running, spending time with my
husband and friends, traveling, and watching Texas Football with friends and
family.
This year your child will engage in community building, extend their
vocabulary, participate in Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop, improve reading
comprehension skills by participating in small reading groups, learn more
about people and the world around them, and develop math skills using problem
solving.
I’m looking forward to magnificent year filled learning and developing
relationships. My conference hour will be from 12:00-12:50. If you have any
questions please call me at 512-428-2220 or email me at
