About The Teacher
My name is Heather Simms and I am very excited to be starting my 7th year at Jollyville. I feel blessed to be able to work at a school were everyone is so caring and focused on learning! I am originally from Houston, Texas, but relocated to Austin in 2004 when my husband, Ryan, got a job here. I do miss my family in Houston, but absolutely love Austin and all it has to offer! Last March, we had our first child, Jack, and he keeps us very busy! I enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading, gardening, and running.

Mission
The mission of an interventionist is to utilize research based interventions and strategies for students who are struggling in the areas of academics, behavior and /or social emotional needs. We will ensure that these identified members of the school community reach a high level of achievement as determined by state and national standards. We commit to a research based set of interventions, strategies and professional development to assure this outcome.
