Assignments

Students should note assignments daily and prepare for class.

You will be responsible for reading material at home in order to be prepared
for class. Please understand that the reading assignments ARE assignments
and should be done, just as written assignments are.

Remember the Homework Practice Online, TAKS Prep Online, and other
activities when you visit the Holt Texas website: go.hrw.com and enter the
keyword found in the textbook for what you want.

The assignments for the week are below. Keep in mind that they are
subject to change. If you are in class, write down the assignments from the
board daily. Listen carefully to see if something is rescheduled. If you
have been absent and have any questions, please e-mail me for an answer.

"It is our choices...that show what we truly are, far more than our
abilities."
- J. K. Rowling, Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets

                          ***Notes for parents***

PARENTS: PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR CHILD ABOUT WHAT ASSIGNMENTS NEED TO BE DONE
AND WHETHER HE/SHE NEEDS TO ATTEND TUTORIALS. IF YOU FEEL THAT YOU NEED TO
CHECK WITH ME ABOUT YOUR CHILD'S ASSIGNMENTS, PLEASE DO SO.

Please be aware that your child will receive a daily planner and
has been asked to record assignments for all classes each day. This
practice will ensure that student and parents know what needs to be done at
home to prepare for classes. It is also a means for parent/teacher
communication.

Students have been instructed to show parents all returned papers and to get
any papers with grades 70 or below signed by a parent. Please check with
your child about returned papers each week.

If you visit the Grades online site, please understand that an "Incomplete"
does not lower the average. The student has not complete the assignment and
needs to do so. "Missing" does average as a zero.

Also, students should bring supplies to class. Students are asked
to bring the same four things to class each day: planner, spiral, something
to write with, and anything that should be turned in that day. Students are
not permitted to go back to backpacks after the bell rings - we only have 45
minutes and can't lose valuable class time at backpacks. If a paper is due
and the student fails to bring it to class, it may be turned in after class.
