Mrs. Tyner’s 7th grade Texas history class
                                    2009 - 2010

Welcome!
Important things to know for your history class:

· Class work and homework assignments will be written on the board each
day. Students should record the assignments from the board each day.
· Directions/assignments will be written on the board for students to
follow when entering the classroom each day. Please observe these
directions promptly.
· Homework is due before the tardy bell rings. Place homework as
designated.
· Bring the requested materials to class each day. Textbooks will be kept
at home, as we will have a classroom set. You should have your name written
(in ink) inside your textbook.
· Visits to the restroom and water fountain should occur between classes.
Valuable class time should not be used for these activities. Plan ahead!
· Students who arrive to class after the tardy bell will be counted tardy.
· The teacher, not the bell, will dismiss students from class. Remain
seated until you are dismissed. Remember to take your belongings and leave
your area clean.
· Keep all returned papers in your notebook. Any papers with grades below
70 should be taken home and signed by a parent when they are returned to you.
· You will have reading assignments to complete outside of class. It is
very important that you complete the required reading to prepare for success
in class.
· Daily work will count 50% of your average. Homework counts 10%. Test
grades will count 40% of your average.
· If you have been absent, please see me when returning to school about
making up missed assignments. You will be given a “due date” to turn in the
work you missed. You may request a tutorial pass if you need further
instruction.
· Tutorial passes will be available for students who need extra help and
for students who have been absent. You must have a pass to attend tutorials.
· You have the right to learn & so does every other student in the
classroom. Show proper consideration and respect to your fellow classmates
and teacher.
· Anytime you have a substitute teacher, remember to demonstrate your best
behavior and complete the assignments that have been left for you.
· Follow the Judson Middle School rules and the LISD Student Code of
Conduct.
