About Mrs. McClelland

Hi! My first name, Daria, is a Persian name that means "wealth," and I've
also been told it means "sea" in Farsi. My parents are both artists and
teachers, so I guess the apple didn't fall too far from the tree!

My husband Michael is also an artist, and he works in town as a level
artist for a video game studio. That means he designs landscapes and
buildings for animated characters to walk through in the video game.

Michael and I have two children, Jaxon (5) and Kai Leigh, (4) who are
great fun and keep us very busy. I was very fortunate to be able to stay
home with them for two years when they were really little. Now Jaxon and
Kai have a blast at a Montessori school while I'm at work.

I have a BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design, and an MA from the
University of New Mexico. This will be my seventh year with Round Rock ISD,
and my ninth year teaching art.

In addition to classroom teaching, I have worked as an outreach art
instructor for the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe and the Albuquerque
Children's Museum. I've also taught one Parent/Child Weekend Workshop at the
Site Santa Fe Contemporary Art Space.

I am looking forward to serving the students and families of Purple Sage
this year!

Class Mission

Each grade level created a social contract at the beginning of the year for
Specials. A copy of each K-5 contract is hanging in the art room.
