Welcome to 2nd grade!!! I am so excited to be your child’s teacher this
year. Second grade will be an exciting journey for your child as we will
learn and experience many new concepts throughout the year.
A little about myself, I grew up in Houston and graduated from University of
Houston with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I have had the great
experience of teaching and learning in the past 11 years. My specialty in
education includes Early Childhood, ELL, General Science and TAG trained. I
have taught in Houston, West Palm Beach, FL and Austin. My husband and I
have been married for 11 years. We enjoy sailing in Lake Travis, traveling,
gardening, camping, and eating.
Why did I choose to become a teacher?
When opening a gift, the most exhilarating moment is when we first discover
what’s inside. I believe every child is a gift and in each child, there are
hidden talents and treasures waiting to be discovered. This is the
excitement that draws me to become an educator each year. As an educator, I
open the doors to opportunities for students to become risk-takers, problem
solvers and leaders. I give students the self-confidence to embrace and
share with others their uniqueness. I am dedicated to providing my students
the assurance to believe in themselves and succeed in all their challenges.
I am passionate in giving students a fun loving environment in which we all
work together as a team to learn from one another. I am ecstatic to be a
part of the Laurel Mountain team and to be a part of you and your child’s
lives. This will be a dynamic year as we begin our journey into 2nd grade
together.
