About The Teacher

I obtained my Bachelors and Masters degrees from Texas Tech University.
Prior to coming to Lockhart, I have had extensive classroom experience, and
most recently worked as a Program Specialist IV in the Special Program
Monitoring and Interventions Division of the Texas Education Agency. In
addition to the courses that I am teaching at Lockhart High School, I am the
Lead Teacher for the Special Education Department.

My husband and I have four children ranging in ages from 7 to 29 years. The
oldest two boys are both married and working in the health care field in
Lubbock, Texas. From these boys, we have 2 grandsons. We moved to Lockhart
with our youngest two, and are
encouraging the older two and their families to investigate this area as a
wonderful place to live and raise a family. We finalized our land purchase
here and moved in during the spring of 2005. We have named our slice of
land
in the country Elusive Dreams Ranch.

Mission For The Class

Every individual learns in slightly different ways. Therefore, we, as
educators, are responsible for determining how to best meet the academic
needs of the student, and help the student to develop habits that will allow
them to reach their full potential. Special Education has the
responsibility of doing all that is possible to assist the students we serve
in getting out of special education and back into general education with the
tools that are needed by the individual to be successful among each
student's peers and lead productive lives within the community as adults.

It is my personal mission to help and guide as many students as possible to
reach their potential in each and every one of the subjects that I teach.
If the student is willing to work, I look forward to working with them.
