Welcome! My name is Tracy Hellerud. I graduated from the University of ND
in 1988, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I have worked
for twenty years as a registered nurse in various health care settings. I
have enjoyed the teaching part of my nursing career and have had the
opportunity to bring my enjoyment of teaching to LISD for the last four
years. I am excited about introducing our students to the health care field,
including real-life clinical experiences, and wish them the best of success
with their future plans.
HSTE Level I:
Develop health care specific knowledge and skills.
Develop communication and leadership skills.
Explore legal and ethical responsibilities in patient care.
Build on skills such as CPR, First Aid, and basic assessments.
Begin preparation for the transition to clinical or work based experiences in
health care.
HSTE Level II:
Develop multi-occupational knowledge and skills related to a variety of
health careers.
Hands-on experience and skill development in classroom clinical lab.
Clinical observation rotations.
Leadership and Communication skills in the healthcare setting.
Pathophysiology and trauma.
