Hello, everyone! I am excited to be teaching at Lockhart High School this
year. It will mark my second year at LHS and my third year teaching. I am
located in room 206, the same room I student taught in during the spring of
2006.
Before becoming a teacher I worked as a newspaper journalist, mostly writing
sports stories and designing pages. I still love to write and believe it is
one of the most important skills our students can master, so I hope to bring
my passion for the subject to the students and help motivate them to see
what they can achieve.
I was born and raised in the Panhandle of Texas, north of Amarillo, which is
where I acquired my undergraduate degree in mass communications. I completed
my Master's in Education in the summer of 2007 at Texas State University in
San Marcos and was married in November of last year to James Dionizio, which
took my last name from an easy Day to a more challenging d-word.
I am committed to doing everything I can for my students to be successful
