What a great week! Our Letter Jj Expert did a great job, and we had our LAST vowel from our Vowel Expert! We had the best time with our Thanksgiving Feast activities, and learned so much about the First Thanksgiving. Now, after a few days off, we will come back looking forward to learning about holiday traditions around the world.

Our big book this week will be Ten Cats Have Hats, and our predictable chart and class book will be, "I would like to wear a __________ hat." Our sight words will be "go" and "me." Because of the long week off, I will be the Letter Expert for the letters Ff and Xx this week. Next week will be our last two letters, and we have two students left to do those letters! We will review rhyming words, talking about what is left if you take off the beginning sound, and add a different sound. Emphasis will be on the part of the word that stays the same in rhyming words.

In Reading, I will read with groups and send books home. Please read the book with your child, and send back in one-or-two days so that I can send another book home. We will also drill, drill, drill sight words. Please work on these at home as you read with your child.

In Math, we will begin Topic 7. This chapter includes dividing objects into equal parts, or halves, and ordinal numbers.

In Social Studies, we will begin our unit on traditions. We will talk about our families and traditions we have in our families. Next week, we will "travel" to five countries and learn about their holiday traditions and celebrations.
