Homework

Homework this week will be one of our "regular" homework pages, focusing on
reading words with a silent final "e", making the other vowel in the word
"long."

Please continue to work on both sets of sight word flashcards! With all of
our Christmas activities, we are not working on them as much in our
classroom. It makes it SO IMPORTANT that you work on them at home.

Don't forget stretching! Please do this as many nights as possible. It is so
important and will help "sounding out" "click" so much faster for your child.

Please continue to read, read, read with your child! If your child is
reading, encourage them to read to you! Mrs. Bullen's Super Patriots will be
just a little bit longer!

In Math, please work on ordinal numbers. This is often a difficult concept
for Kindergartners. At home, you can reinforce this concept by putting
objects in a line, talking about which is first, second, third, etc. all the
way up to tenth. We have assessed this concept, but it will continue
throughout the year. This week, we will have several Math Holiday pages--
graphing, addition, left and right, and visual discrimination. We will begin
a telling time topic after Winter Break.

We have a homework chart in our classroom. As students bring in their
homework, they earn a star on the chart. When they receive five stars, they
can choose from the treat basket. Please encourage your child to always turn
in his/her homework. These are good habits we can begin now that HOPEFULLY
will continue throughout their education! :)

Thank you so much for helping your child with concepts we are working on at
school!
