Homework

Homework this week will include a page of reading short sentences, and
finishing with a word at the bottom of the page. Students can write the word
in, instead of cutting out the word and gluing.

We will also begin sentence stretching! Instead of word stretching, each week
students will bring home a page to stretch five sentences for homework. There
will be a direction sheet that comes home with this sheet in your child's
Tuesday Folder this week.

Please continue to work on both sets of sight word flashcards! I will pre-
assess on the second list this week.

Please continue to read, read, read with your child! If your child is
reading, encourage them to read to you!

In Math, please review concepts we have worked on this year: counting orally
1-100, writing numbers and counting objects 1-10, shapes, patterns, and
ordinal numbers 1st-10th. This week, we will introduce a chapter on time. You
can practice telling time with your child to the hour and half-hour.

We have a homework chart in our classroom. As students bring in their
homework, they earn a star on the chart. With the beginning of our stretching
sentence homework, students can earn TWO stars each week! When they receive
five stars, they can choose from the treat basket. Please encourage your
child to always turn in his/her homework. These are good habits we can begin
now that HOPEFULLY will continue throughout their education! :)

Thank you so much for helping your child with concepts we are working on at
school!
